Senior Accountant, North American Acquisitions
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant North America Acquisitions is a direct report to the Acquisitions Controller and will be located in Milwaukee.
The individual in this role will support maintaining accurate accounting records on the legacy accounting systems of certain acquisitions ensuring timely reporting into SAP/FCC.
The individual will also support the transition of workloads to the applicable Rockwell Automation Centers of Excellence.
They will provide guidance to local acquisition accounting staff located throughout North America.
The individual in this role will have a strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting, internal controls, transaction processing, Rockwell Automation Standard Processes and IT infrastructure, and consolidation.
Essential Functions: • Maintain a complete and systematic set of financial transactions in the legacy systems of certain acquisitions • Ensure timely & accurate reporting of acquisition results in SAP/FCC on a monthly basis • Participate in balance sheet reviews and review and approve submissions • Provide guidance in adhering to a proper internal control environment • Provide transaction support including but not limited to project accounting, revenue recognition, expense report processing, payable and receivables for the related businesses • Drive adoption of Rockwell Automation processes including but not limited to thresholds of accruals, prepaids and PP&E • Automate, simplify and standardize submission processes and ensure robust documentation of the processes is developed and maintained • Assist in the transfer of workload to Rockwell Finance Centers of Excellence and integration into Rockwell Automation’s standard processes • Assist in documenting legacy processes as well as those transitioning to RA systems.
Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or equivalent • Legal authorization to work in U.
S is required • Willingness and ability to travel 10-20% Preferred Qualifications: • Typically requires 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance • CPA and/or public accounting firm experience and exposure to global industrial companies • In depth understanding of US GAAP, accounting transaction, internal controls, balance sheet and income statement preparation, revenue recognition, account reconciliation, intercompany transactions, and journal entries • Ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of multiple systems as this role will have exposure to multiple acquisition ERP systems, SAP, Concur, Onbase, and other RA IT systems • Effective use of networking skills and ability to collaborate with multiple other business and finance functions • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and competing priorities • Analytical with the capability to clearly summarize and communicate results • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels and functions of the organization • Impeccable sense of integrity and business ethics • Willingness to challenge status quo in order to enhance productivity, processes and procedures • Supportive of change management • Successful at transferring skills and knowledge to team Some Notes: Job title: General Accountant Job Code (Can be found in Workday): FA.
