ACCOUNTS PAYABLE/RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE / ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST Schroeder Moving Companies New Berlin, Wisconsin We are searching for a skilled Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team to process vendor and customer payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
This role is integral to maintaining a healthy cash flow.
The AP/AR Specialist will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued customers, vendors, and independent drivers.
OBJECTIVES: · Support the company in optimizing our financial transactions and systems by performing reconciliation of payments and vendor/customer accounts.
· Communicate discrepancies to management team, identify slow-paying customers, and recommend collection candidates.
· Strengthen and grow relationships with customers by communicating with customers regarding past-due accounts.
· Assist in streamlining the accounts payable and receivable processes by identifying areas for performance improvement.
· Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting.
RESPONSIBLITIES: · Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment.
· Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry.
· Execute credit card reconciliations.
· Maintain and provide accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
· Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email, and mail.
· Maintain and run integrated spreadsheets for independent driver charges.
· Monitor/maintain independent driver escrow accounts.
· Process estimated tax and interest disbursements to independent drivers.
· Review independent driver commission statements for accuracy and contract adherence.
· Maintain and reconcile independent driver related balance sheet accounts.
· Provide data entry support to the accounting department as needed.
· Review all invoices for approval and coding accuracy.
· Process incoming vendor invoices into AP accounting software.
· Provide timely resolution of vendor and customer inquiries.
· Supervise and provide support to Accounts Payable Associate.
· Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: · Positive, up-beat personality with a strong desire to see opportunity rather than problems.

· Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Microsoft applications required.

· Ability to demonstrate initiative and to work with minimum supervision.
· Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
· Excellent time management and detail orientation.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: · Associate degree in accounting or equivalent.
· Experience in accounts payable and receivable.
· Experience in driving process improvement.
