AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM ASSISTANT
The Milwaukee Rescue Mission’s Cross Trainers Academy (CTA) is a K4-12th grade Christian Academy in the heart of Milwaukee, serving students and families who are searching for a strong academic learning experience in a gospel-centered environment.

Cross Trainers Academy is seeking a part-time After School Program Assistant to assist After Care staff with all program activities.
The After Care Program provides a safe atmosphere after school for children grades K4 – 12th grade to develop, grow, and improve their academic, social, emotional, recreational and faith development by providing time for homework, tutoring, recreation, and faith based mentoring.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-6:00pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help create a positive Christian, educational and recreational atmosphere for children to grow in
Reinforce lessons presented by CTA and After Care staff by connecting and working with students one-on-one
Supervise and interact with youth in programming, including homework help, sports & recreation, mentoring, and social development
Support after care rules and approved disciplinary procedures
Perform daily check-in and chaperoning from the gym to the Youth Program Center
Maintain physical state of all program space and equipment by practicing safety, cleanliness and inventory control
Assist with special events and youth programs
Set-up and clean-up of programs, events and meals
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma preferred
Experience working with children and youth programming preferred
Passionate about youth and ministry with the ability and willingness to share the gospel
Culturally competent and relational with excellent communication and mentoring skills
An authentic, eager and influential role model with the ability to motivate and inspire
Excellent organization and time management skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Reliability, dependability, and punctuality are expected
Competent in the following platforms: Word, Excel, Outlook, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, PowerSchool
Must be able to handle physical workload – ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, walking, stair climbing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, reaching, handling and gripping without difficulty, repetitive movement of both hands and arms, as well as occasional lifting or moving items with a maximum weight of 35lbs a short distance (ex: floor to shelf or cart), and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dolly
A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive
Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
