level systems/reliability engineer with a strong systems engineering mindset.
This individual will have strong engineering fundamentals with a business mindset and an ability to lead/manage a small team.
A successful candidate will be curious and accountable, and will bring strong experience in system design, test set up, validation and data acquisition.
Critical component testing will also be integral to the group's efforts to identify and mitigate risks.

Duties and Responsibilities: Product Development and Systems Engineering Act as subject matter expert with respect to product quality, reliability, user requirements and warranty information for new product designs and engineering changes Analyze, draw conclusions, report and present product information utilizing statistical techniques such as Weibull analysis, reliability distributions/matrices and reliability models.
Ensure timely failure reporting and lead root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA) Support Advanced Engineering activities targeted at Critical-to-Quality needs Carry a systems mindset with awareness of how different cross functional teams contribute to the development of products.
Support development and refinement of tools and processes for execution of system engineering practices within an agile/high-velocity product development environment.
Lead system requirements definition and documentation from voice of customer, business, and regulation.
Lead the development of system verification and validation strategies keeping in mind project schedules and ROI.
Strategies may include reliability allocation, FMEAs, accelerated life test, component/sub-system/system level testing, etc.
Establish work instructions, test procedures and best practices for global test labs.
Establish and maintain a strong awareness and database of competitive offerings, product strategies, and business climate to help shape a best-in-class product roadmap.
Interact with global cross functional teams and suppliers that participate in product development.
Management Ability to lead and manage a small team of junior reliability/quality/systems engineers.
Serve as a role model of Milwaukee Tool’s culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior engineers.
Demonstrate Milwaukee Tools culture of high performance and agility by independently creating Work Breakdown Structure for your team’s work and driving to critical milestones.
Quickly, effectively, and candidly frame-up and escalate business risks/opportunities up, down and across the organization.
Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field and 5+ years of experience in a systems/reliability role OR a Master of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field and 3+ years of experience in similar Systems/Reliability role.
New product commercialization processes emphasizing design, manufacturing, quality, test and/or reliability activities Training in quality engineering fundamentals and proven experience leading a primary function within a project team Design of Experiments, life data analysis, and other related statistical tools and software (i.
e.
Minitab, Reliasoft) Proficient in systems thinking and application to engineered systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills, exercises independent judgement and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilities Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with lithium-ion battery technology Experience working with complex Battery Systems Experience and commitment to design for reliability principals.
