We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network and Security Administrator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration, cybersecurity, and virtualization technologies, with a focus on VMware vSphere a minimum of 3 years' experience.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
· Design, implement, and manage network security measures to protect company data and systems from cyber threats.
· Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
· Configure and maintain virtualized environments using VMware vSphere, including virtual machines and storage.
· Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of network and security solutions with business applications.
· Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and address potential risks.
· Develop and maintain documentation related to network configurations, security policies, and procedures.
· Provide technical support and training to end-users on network and security-related topics.
· Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in network administration, cybersecurity, and virtualization technologies.
*Educational Requirements / Experience:*
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
· Proven experience as a Network Administrator, Security Administrator, or similar role.
· In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, routing, and switching technologies.
· Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security.
· Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and virtualization technologies.
· Familiarity with SolidWorks and Product Data Management (PDM) systems is a plus.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Security+, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or equivalent are preferred.
*General/Physical Demands:*
· Ability to lift 25 lbs.
· Willing/able to occasionally climb a ladder to ceiling height (approx.
2-3 times per year)
· Ability to make day trips within 100 miles of corporate office to provide IT support in a manufacturing environment.
