SUMMARY:
Perlick is seeking a motivated engineering intern who is ready to apply knowledge of basic problem solving, mathematics, and engineering principles to an authentic real-world experience.
The intern will assist with a wide range of duties, including documenting technical requirements, hands on work/testing, analyzing data, preparing testing reports, performing CAD modeling/drawing updates, and learning about varied engineering activities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES :
Learn the Change Management, New Product Development, and Value Analysis/Value Engineering processes and contribute as a Product Development Engineering team member.
Support Sales and Application Engineering team in addressing customer requests for quotation and ordering of modified or custom Perlick products.
Create and maintain CAD models and Engineering drawings in SolidWorks and release to PDM and ERP systems to support prototype, custom, and production configuration and release.
Support the design validation planning, documentation, prototype build, physical testing, data analysis, and reporting for new and existing products.
Including inventorying, disposition, and scrapping of test articles.
Work with your supervisor to identify and execute a “win-win” activity that supports the candidate’s own educational and career goals while also benefiting Perlick’s business needs.
Other learning objectives, projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and completion of a CAD modeling and drafting training course (SolidWorks preferred)
Strong verbal and written communication skills and works well in a cross-functional, team environment
Highly motivated with a desire to learn, plan, align, and perform with strong attention to detail
