*Brown & Brown Insurance *has an exciting opportunity available for a *Senior Application Developer *supporting our *PlanIT Analytics* team in *Milwaukee, WI*!
The Sr.
Application Developer will plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core Division and Service Line functions and business processes.
*WHAT YOU’LL DO:*
* Gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements.
* Collaborate in the conceptualization, planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
* Research, design, documentation, and modification of software specifications throughout the production life cycle.
* Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
* Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and assist in developing strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
* Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
* Other duties may be assigned.
*WHAT YOU’LL NEED:*
* Degree within Business Administration, Computer Science, Accounting, or Management Information Systems
* 5 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience with cloud platforms like Azure and GCP for deploying and managing applications is strongly preferred.
* Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
* Highly proficient at Java, JavaScript, Node.
js, HTML5
* Familiarity with cloud platforms like GCP and Azure for deploying and managing applications.
* Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases for data modeling and querying.
* Understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
* Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
* Highly self-motivated and directed.
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
* Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative, and matrixed environment.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking ability.
* Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
