How you will help us create value together: As a Data Analytics and BI Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the IT Data and BI Team.
Activities will include the engineering of data pipelines, modeling of data based on business context, analytics and BI workflow and solution development, and AI/ML enablement.
The Data Analytics and BI Intern will also assist with research, reporting and documentation, and driving proof-of-concept value and feasibility into viable opportunities.
This position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee’s Harbor District! The target start date for this role is Summer 2024 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2024 school semester.
We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year.
Key Job Responsibilities Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand challenges and opportunities and align business challenges and opportunities to data-driven solutions.
Assist in the development and implementation of data analytics solutions using Palantir Foundry platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and identify opportunities for data-driven decision making.
Perform data cleansing, transformation, and analysis to support business intelligence and action-driven initiatives.
Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports using Komatsu big data analysis tools.
Assist in the documentation of data processes, workflows, technical design, business requirements, and best practices.
Participate in meetings with business and IT stakeholders and contribute to the continuous improvement of data analytics processes and solutions.
Produce innovative solutions using AI and machine learning to enhance digital capabilities and business value.
Qualifications/Requirements Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
Familiarity with data analytics concepts and tools, such as SQL, Python, or R.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience or coursework in data analytics, data engineering, data modeling, business analysis, business intelligence, or related fields.
Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
Familiarity with big data technologies, such as Hadoop or Spark.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
