Trissential is currently seeking a Business Analyst with experience in Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) to join our client's team in Milwaukee, WI (Onsite).
Responsibilities: Position Summary: As a Business Analyst specializing in Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), you will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions.
Your primary focus will be on understanding and analyzing business requirements related to ADMS implementations within the utility and energy sector.
You will collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical teams to ensure that ADMS solutions align with organizational goals and deliver measurable business value.
The Business Analyst will assist in the development of requirements (business, functional, non-functional, and technical) gathering, process (business, operations and technical) modeling, Wireframe Design, Report Design, User Story Development and serve as a technical liaison using standardized methodologies.
The Business Analyst will be part of a team that maintains solid working relationships across teams while developing an understanding of their processes and associated technology needs to ensure full-service engagement through to solution delivery.
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Facilitate cross functional requirements gathering sessions between client teams and user communities to create or assist others in gathering and writing user requirements, documentation, instructions, procedures, and presentations using multiple methodologies including waterfall, agile, and hybrid.
Translate business rules, requirements, and process flows into requirements, process models, user stories or other client specific requirements documentation utilizing industry standard tools.
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis to ensure strong collaboration between impacted team members & clients.
Comprehensibly understand functions of the systems for which requirements are being created.
Diagram current/future state business/operations and technical processes utilizing industry standard tools and techniques.
Apply understanding of technical/system concepts within technical area to assist with design review of solutions.
Liaise between technical team and subject matter experts/end users to ensure alignment and understanding of what is to be delivered.
Effectively communicate to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion and provide ongoing proactive communication to clients on work progress and impediments.
Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, support the development and implementation of solutions.
Manage the requirements lifecycle.
Assist in estimating work for stories and requirements, track/trace requirements, develop relevant acceptance criteria.
Facilitate grooming and prioritization of stories, support release planning activities, and demonstrate functionality as needed.
Prepare design flow, wireframe, and reporting documentation.
Assist with the planning and execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as needed.
Essential responsibilities: Operational Support: Install, modify, document, and maintain system configuration, updates and changes.
Analyze requirements and performance to optimize systems configuration for stability.
Develop scripts and automate routine tasks.
Integration performance monitoring, adaptor management, integration configuration management, and coordination with Enterprise Service Bus and interface applications.
Problem Management: Investigate and resolve problems involving complex systems.
Provide problem identification for production incidents.
Identify and implement solutions to production incidents.
Identify and resolve production alerts.
Provide support for systems testing and validation activities.
Contribute to problem reviews.
User Support: Provide contextual and technical information to users.
Assist users in identifying difficult technical problems and devising solutions.
Advise users on available approved technologies.
Translate user requirements into technical solutions.
Communications: Clearly and concisely communicate operational status whenever requested.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, specifically working on ADMS implementations.
Strong understanding of utility and energy business processes.
Familiarity with project management methodologies is a plus.
Skills: Five years of related functional experience.
Demonstrated strong business and technical acumen and aptitude.
Basic knowledge of one or more core technologies (e.
g.
, Servers, Hosting Platforms, Network Circuits, APIs).
Detail-oriented, with the ability to demonstrate strong adherence to procedure and protocol for operational support service tracking/ticketing.
Strong communication skills, effective with varying organizational levels and skill sets.
Strong Relationship Management and collaboration skills, with a track record of working as one team cross-organizationally to drive innovation and business results.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Desired Skills: Experience in the electric utility industry is a plus.
Knowledge of or experience with Schneider Electric SCADA is a plus.
Experience: Strong experience with Windows OS and general Microsoft platform technologies.
Knowledge of Windows OS deployment and methodologies.
Understanding of common application technologies (e.
g.
Office, Internet Explorer).
Patch deployment remediation experience.
Understanding of system architecture and design methodologies.
Experience with scripting.
Experience with virtual platforms and infrastructure.
Knowledge of APIs.
Benefits: Trissential offers a competitive hourly rate for the Business Analyst, ranging between $55 to $65 per hour on a full time (40 hours per week) basis.
