Job Description Summary Our Monitoring Solutions Research and Development team in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a valued new member; an Engineering Technician to work alongside design engineers in the ideation and creation of patient critical equipment assisting clinicians around the world.
As a Engineering Technician you will be directly involved in the testing of components and systems, working to validate reliability, quality, and ensuring design expectations.
You will be responsible for various assignments in the Research & Development organization, including the execution of compliance and reliability tests, accelerated life tests, environmental stress screening, Highly Accelerate Life Testing (HALT/HASS), and reliability demonstration testing.

Job Description Responsibilities Performs diverse and complex assignments in support of GE Healthcare product development.
Utilizing initiative and independent judgment, construct and assist in evaluating engineering models.
Perform basic trouble shooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution.
Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests, as required to draw conclusions.
Perform software and hardware evaluation and implement plans using knowledge of product, system operation, intermodule interactions, engineering tools, and interactive software tools as required.
Provide strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals.
Provide technical leadership by assisting others in troubleshooting, answering questions and seeking engineering assistance.
Train other team members through technical communications and/or presentations.
Lead compliance and quality activities by looking for defect trends, learning about quality issues and concessions and passing information to other technicians.
Serve as the technical expert on new product introductions by providing feedback to engineering and manufacturing personnel as new products are developed and new procedures are implemented.
Utilize basic technical communications throughout the new product cycle to improve internal models and/or externally sourced components in terms of system performance, reliability, functionality, and serviceability.
Provide evaluation, constructive feedback and leadership in the development of internal and external engineering, manufacturing, or service documentation.
May lead, develop, and execute training plans as required.
Provide technical assistance by telephone or in person to customers, field service personnel, or suppliers as needed.
May travel to customer sites to assist in system level installations, problem resolution and diagnostics as required.
Limited direction is given in the execution of job related activities.
Comply with EHS regulations and policies.
Work closely with Engineering to provide Reliability inputs into product designs.
This may include DFR and Six Sigma methods.
Qualifications/Requirements Associates degree, or a High School diploma and 5 years technical experience Minimum of 2 years experience troubleshooting at subsystem and system level, using identifiable problem solving techniques Minimum of 2 years experience drawing conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and implementing corrections to design or process Demonstrated proficiency to understand and interpret complex technical information Demonstrated proficiency to utilize computerized work systems; such as Engineering Change Order tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills Competency in Microsoft Office applications Desired Qualifications 6+ years work experience in research and development role 2+ years of experience in product development in the medical device industry Experience working in a regulated industry Experience in Design for Reliability (DFR) and Reliability Growth Testing including accelerated life testing, environmental stress screening (HALT and HASS) Knowledge of IEC 60601-1 Medical electrical equipment Demonstrated ability to be take initiative and independently resolve issues Experience with LabVIEW Knowledge and background in Six Sigma tools and methods We expect all employees to live and breathe our behaviors: to act with humility and build trust; lead with transparency; deliver with focus, and drive ownership – always with unyielding integrity.
