We are currently searching for a Full-Time CFD Analyst- Mechanical Engineer to sit in either our New York NY, Troy NY, Atlanta GA, Milwaukee WI, Tempe AZ, or Herndon VA office.
Your Impact
Utilize CFD tools to solve physics-based problems related to indoor and outdoor building flows, thermal comfort, contaminant dispersion and condensation controls
Improve existing analytical capabilities by developing and improving best practices, automating processes, and streamlining workflows
Maintain working knowledge of relevant computational fluids research in the building mechanical field with proactive research
Documentation, reporting, and making technical presentations of engineering solutions to design teams and clients
Work independently while communicating and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and project managers
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline with emphasis on thermal-fluid sciences from an accredited university with at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
Master’s Degree or more experience would be preferred.
Other engineering and science degrees may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Knowledgeable on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Building Mechanical Systems
Ability to perform quality work within deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in understanding and using CFD analysis software (FloEFD, STAR CCM+, Fluent, FDS, OpenFOAM, 6SigmaRoom)
Familiarity with software development for writing User Defined Functions (UDF) for commercial software.
Experience in programming languages such as Python, C++ and Java
Critical thinking and problem solving skills, planning & organizing skills, decision making and time management skill
Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to clearly communicate research findings through presentations and reports
Strong drive for results and continuous improvement
Compensation and Benefits:
WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
Expected Salary: $76,000 - $123,000
