Elliott Ace Hardware is a local, family-owned business started in Elm Grove, Wisconsin in 1957.
We operate four Ace Hardware stores in the Milwaukee area, including Elm Grove, West Allis, Pewaukee, and Muskego.
General Summary
The Floor Manager assists the store manager in the overall store operations and the achievement of company goals and directives.
Salary range $40,000-$45,000.
Duties include but are not limited to the following.
Customer Service
Provide positive representation of the store.
Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
Greet customers entering and throughout the store.
Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the store.
Assist customers in moving, loading, and unloading of products within and outside of the store.
Ensure all calls and pages are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
Possess excellent product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
Store Operations
Ensure a positive, professional and safe work environment for all associates and customers.
Supervise the general operations of the entire store.
Responsible for opening and closing the store.
Participate in management staff meetings.
Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise areas.
Ensure that weekly price changes, data maintenance, sign and label updates are completed timely and accurately.
Maintain knowledge of the register procedures and assist as needed.
Manage maintenance and repairs in order to maximize and protect all physical assets (i.
e.
building, fixtures and equipment).
Assist to ensure forklift operations and receiving is completed in a safe and efficient way.
Inventory & Merchandising
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels.
Assist in ordering, receiving, checking in, transferring, and stocking of merchandise.
Responsible for maintenance of back stock levels.
Assist with merchandise resets throughout the store.
Assist in presenting a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and promotional merchandise.
Leadership
Manage all aspects of store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
Assist in hiring, training, and scheduling of store associates.
Lead by example; be approachable by all associates and customers.
Communicate merchandising, cost control or sales idea to the Store Manager for follow up.
Experience
Experience within the retail hardware/home improvement industry or management in retail is required.

Must be willing and able, with training provided, to operate all company equipment including but not limited to fork lift trucks, pallet jacks, platform lifts, store delivery trucks, floor cleaners, pipe cutters, paper balers, key cutters, computers, phones, faxes, etc.
