PRIMARY FUNCTION
The primary function of the Facilities Manager is to ensure a safe, secure, and clean environment within our facilities and grounds.
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the school facilities and grounds and overseeing maintenance employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Safety & Facility Management
* Oversee daily facility operations and maintenance in accordance with policies and procedures at the VCA campuses.
* Oversee building security and safety of all occupants and visitors.
* Oversee building maintenance and repairs.
* Provide 40-hour work week.
* Provide property advisement.
* Work with all contractors regarding construction, cleaning, pest removal, trash, and repairs, etc.
* Troubleshoot issues to determine cause and solution.
* Coordinate the performance of general repairs, routine maintenance, and preventative maintenance, including but not limited to electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, locks, doors, refrigeration, plumbing, etc.
* Conduct periodic inspections of the buildings, equipment, and properties.
* Attend and participate in meetings as requested, give reports about the facilities as needed.
* Conduct periodic team meetings.
* Assume responsibility as the Designated Asbestos Coordinator and attend appropriate training courses, if needed.
* Be available for on-call services and needs.
* Oversee the Facilities Maintenance employees.
* Overseeing Fire/Tornado Drills (schedule, pull the alarm, file reports, etc.
).
* Oversee facility rentals.
* Oversee snow removal and yard maintenance, including but not limited to mowing, leaf removal, weed removal, sidewalk and parking area clearing.
* Oversee facility budget and coordinate with business manager and supervisors as needed.
* Ensure spending falls within facility budget parameters.
Staff Personnel
* Attend all VCA meetings and devotions if required.
* Be responsible for own involvement as a contributing member involving group decision making and the development of a positive, cooperative building environment.
* Report any work-related grievance or complaint to the Principal and Executive Director.
Building Operations
* Know and observe policies and regulations in all VCA Handbooks and Articles of Faith which can be found in SharePoint.
* Advise the supervisors immediately of needed repairs, replacements, and/ or unsafe building conditions.
* Follow school regulations regarding emergency procedures.
* Identify and refer unusual student behavior and any injury and illness to a student or self to the teacher or supervisors.
School Community Relations
* Interpret school policies and programs with students and parents.
* Uphold and enforces Board policy, administrative procedures, and school rules and regulations and is supportive of them to the public.
* Strives to communicate the positive aspects of our school program to the public in word and deed.
* Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with other staff members.
* Respects the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and employees in accordance with accepted professional ethics, and state and federal law.
* Analyzes assessments regularly and modifies instruction as necessary.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Previous facilities and maintenance experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.
00 - $65,000.
