This position consists of doing what we consider to be “Special Services Work” for our customers.
This includes but is not limited to scrubbing and refinishing tile floors, cleaning carpet, window cleaning, and some miscellaneous jobs such as auto-scrubbing shop floors and pressure washing walls, etc.
Ideal applicants should take pride in a job well done and enjoy seeing the completed finished product of the services we are delivering.
This position varies between full and part-time, with the full time shift generally running from 5:00pm to 1:00am, and the part-time shift running from 5:00pm to the completion of the task at hand.
The end time for these positions varies, because most of our jobs vary in the time it takes to complete them.
Occasionally the shifts start earlier or run during the daytime, and more often, they start later and run later into the evening.
*SUPERVISED BY:* Special Services Manager *SUPERVISES:* No-one *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* *The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:* *RESPONSIBILITIES* *%* *Rank* *Hard Floor Care* · Stripping and waxing or sealing (Refinishing) tile floors such as VCT tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic and quarry tile and some cement floors.
· Scrubbing different types of flooring including ceramic, brick, quarry, cement, and painted epoxy.
· High speed buffing or “burnishing” tile floors.
*45* *1* *Carpet Cleaning* * Bonnet cleaning carpet: This consist of running a floor scrubbing machine with a bonnet cleaning pad on it over the carpet.
* Extracting carpet: This consists of using a carpet extractor to clean carpet.
* Cleaning furniture: This also consist of using a carpet extractor to clean furniture such as desk chairs and fabric cubicle partitions.
*35* *1* *Window Cleaning* * This procedure consist of cleaning interior and exterior windows with the exception that on exterior glass we usually only clean lower-level and some 2nd and 3rd floor windows that can be reached with an extension pole.
* To accomplish this job we generally scrub the glass with a strip-washer and then squeegee the glass with the proper size squeegee.
* This involves some work from ladders and surfaces above ground level, and the use of extension poles for exterior windows that cannot be reached from the ground.
*10* *1* *Special Projects* * Auto-scrubbing floors: For this procedure you would run an auto-scrubbing machine to clean the floor surface area.
* Pressure-cleaning: This consists of using a pressure washer to clean walls, floors, buffing pads, ect.
* Shop Cleaning: This involves the cleaning of many different surfaces in industrial buildings, ect.
Some examples would be dusting, floor cleaning, and industrial machine cleaning, ect.
*5* *2* *Emergency Work* * Flood clean-up: This involves the use of carpet extraction equipment and wet vacs to remove flood-water from the flooded areas.
*5* *2* *Miscellaneous Duties* * Clocking in / out at all locations.
* Driving to and from customer locations.
* Mixing chemicals to proper dilutions.
* Keeping vehicles and storage room neat and orderly.
* *5* *2* *Note:*Responsibilities ranked at 1-3 are considered to be essential job functions, meaning the job was designed to do and accomplish that task.
Responsibilities ranked at 4-5 are considered to be marginal job functions, meaning if the position did not do that task, the job itself would not be materially altered.
*QUALIFICATIONS* *1.
* Must be a self-starter with an open mind in attaining work objectives, and be able to work unsupervised in customer locations.
*2.
* Must have a valid drivers license in good standing, and be able to navigate to and from customer locations (able to follow street directions and read a map).
*3.
* Must be able to follow directions for completing jobs.
*4.
* Must be able to work on your feet for the duration of the shift, and endure continuous work on your feet and sometimes a lot of kneeling.
*5.
* Some mechanical ability preferred but not a must.
*PHYSICAL DEMANDS* · Lifting up to approximately 100lbs, occasionally more.
· Continuously standing, walking, and kneeling for the duration of the work shift.
· Being able to continuously run a carpet cleaning wand for an extended period of time.
· Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles at customer locations.
· Occasionally carrying equipment on stairways when there aren’t elevators available.
· Ability to occasionally work from a ladder.
· Ability to use an extension pole of up to 20 feet for window cleaning.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: $17.
