This is the legendary Red Label Series of Acoustics by Yamaha, the Solid Mahogany Back and Sides Are real solid woods, and there is a ARE aged Solid Sitka Spruce Top as well.
$599 with current pickguard…or $639 with new higher quality pick guard coming in the mail soon installed.
Your choice.
$839 when new Guitar Center, Sweetwater, and other Yamaha Authorized Dealers.
I have never seen these on sale anywhere for lower than MSRP, instead sometimes they are higher, because they come in very rarely do to supply chain issues.
Make sure to check out online and YouTube reviews.
And prices on eBay and online for this model and it’s solid wood competition by Martin, Taylor, and Gibson and Guild.
The guitar is the exact same guitar as the Japanese made Red LabelFG5, minus the hard case, standard bone nut, saddle, and ebony pins, and a better setup, more human hands on time, and first choice in wood, and less time in shipping containers, compared to the China made ones.
This is made China at a Yamaha owned and managed factory, that’s not just not contracted out like some companies do, YouTube has a video of the way the factory works.
Bought new by me in April 2020.
Registered at Yamaha.
The resonance and warm full and crisp sound was excellent from day one, and has opened up even more over the years.
About a year ago I had a professional set up at Cream City Guitars in Brookfield, with a bone nut and saddle added, and I added TUSQ bridge pins to replace the synthetic nut, bridge pins, and saddle that were standard, that alone was over $100, but well worth it.
I also bought a wood pick guard off eBay, but it was so cheap without a coating, and as seen in the pictures in not so great shape, I have a new higher quality one coming.
Without the new pick guard the price is $599.
I will add new pictures once it is installed.
Other than that and a few nicks around the pickguard from changing it, this looks excellent, but is not perfect as no 3 year old guitar is.
Zoom in on the pictures, or come see in person if truly interested in buying.
This was never played out, and that’s the reason why I did not get any pickup electronics for it, as I meant it for home use only.
A excellent Yamaha Hard bag is included, Allen wrench, picks, etc.
And you can add an aftermarket pickup at anytime.
Originally it comes with the excellent Elixir Nanoweb 12/53 strings my favorite.
But after older age and a hand injury, I just installed lighter but still excellent coated strings…Dragon Skin 11/50 custom lights.
I will also include a free pair of Martin MA 170 Extra Lights 10-47 for free.
I cleaned and polished the guitar with my Gibsons Restoration Kit, Gerlutz No.
1 guitar wax and polish, and Frine fret polishing kit, and other words it looks quite nice.
I will be including the original synthetic nut, saddle, pins, and a black TUSQ nut, if I can locate them since I do not need them anymore, and also a guitar string tuner at no additional charge.
Any questions just ask, it’s not often you can find a reputable name brand all solid wood guitar at this price, that also has great reviews online.
Time to upgrade from laminate low end guitars.
Thanks for looking, snooze you loose.
God bless.
