LEAD GUITARIST / INSTRUMENTALIST WANTED!
The lead guitarist of our Americana / Roots Rock band called Fair Webber has sadly recently found himself unable to play lead guitar anymore due to debilitating arthritis.
The leaders and founders of the band — Tom and Barb Webber — are award-winning, Milwaukee based singer-songwriters.
We would like to find someone who would be interested in joining our band as a lead instrumentalist and who would like to set up an audition with us.
We are most naturally looking for someone who is a lead guitarist and who plays both the electric and acoustic guitar, but we are also open to looking at other possibilities such as a keyboardist, violinist / fiddler, mandolinist, just to name a few possibilities— or better— a multi-instrumentalist.
A bonus would be if the potential band member was also adept at singing harmony since that is an essential element of our performance and brand.
We are looking for someone who has eclectic tastes in music and is able to play across many styles/ genres: folk, country, rock, blues, rockabilly and jazz-tinged songs.
Most of our gigs involve a mix of both our originals plus cover tunes by artists ranging from from 60s and 70s folk, folk rock, blues, classic rock, pop and country (e.

, artists and bands such as Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Buffalo Springfield, CSN&Y, John Prine, Taj Mahal, The Band, Cat Stevens, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Neil Young, The Byrds, Bob Seger, Paul Simon, Kris Kristofferson, The Eagles, Stevie Nicks, Waylon Jennings, Joni Mitchell) to later, more contemporary artists (e.

, Sting, Jason Mraz, Chris Stapleton, Norah Jones, Nanci Griffith, the BoDeans, Ben Harper and Luke Bryant).
Tom and Barb Webber have won a number of awards, including a WAMI Award for Best Folk Act.
We also had the honor of being sent by the Wisconsin Singer Songwriter series to represent Wisconsin and perform a few years back at F.

We have also been honored to play every year as a featured act in Waukesha’s Friday Night Live series (which has 9 stages) since its inception over 20 years ago.
Finally, we have enjoyed a good amount of radio play of our original music over the years, such as on WMSE, on WPR’s “Simply Folk” show (where they even recorded and played on air one of our live concerts in its entirety) and on stations throughout the USA and beyond.
Note to that, as singer-songwriters, our band plays a significant amount of our own original music during most of our gigs, so it would be really important that any potential band members have taken the time to familiarize him or herself with our music and enjoy, support, and are committed to performing our music.
