Estimator

*Job Summary:* KG Stevens is the largest solid surface and granite/quartz fabricator in Wisconsin and due to our tremendous growth, we are looking for a Commercial Estimator to join our team! The Commercial Estimator will review plans and prepare estimates for Commercial projects.
This position will work closely with customers and subcontractors.
*Primary Responsibilities:* * Analyze new bid opportunities through review of project specifications & blueprints * Utilize estimating software to achieve accurate and efficient takeoffs from plans * Perform material layouts and track material allowance throughout each project * Prepare estimates based off material price, labor, and equipment/supply costs * Review project details with department supervisor to ensure scope of work and interest * Follow-up on awarded projects to ensure quotes match any extra work required from CAD drawings and/or change orders.
* May occasionally work on special projects or perform other duties as assigned *The Ideal Candidate Would:* * Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite * Knowledge of PlanSwift or other estimating software * Must be able to read and comprehend architectural drawings * Have a knowledge of the construction industry including cabinetry and/or millwork * Have a very strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a timely manner towards the completion of each assigned job * Enjoy problem solving in a fast-paced environment * Be proficient in math * Have excellent written & verbal communication skills * Be comfortable with technology * Be a team player who builds great working relationships * Possess exceptional customer service skills * Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills * Have an ability to calmly respond to complaints from clients *Working Conditions:* While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to airborne particles and moderate to high noise levels while in the shop.
Safety equipment is provided for employees that will be in these areas.
*Physical Requirements* While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally need to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.
