JOB SUMMARY:
Directs, coordinates, and performs a wide variety of highly skilled maintenance work on production equipment, buildings, and grounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Motivates, directs, trains, and appraises performance of maintenance employees to ensure companies’ standards of quality, quantity, and safety are being met.
Identifies developmental needs of employees.
Provides coaching, mentoring, and necessary resources for employees to expand their job knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Assists in the recruitment and orientation of maintenance employees.
Demonstrates the technical knowledge to perform a wide variety of highly skilled maintenance, as well as preventative and predictive maintenance work on shop machines and equipment.
Prioritizes and assigns maintenance jobs to capable maintenance staff, in coordination with Scheduling Department.
Ensures maintenance is performed in a manner that limits equipment downtime and/or impact to Operations, but also complies with necessary maintenance schedules and quality system requirements (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.
).
Maintains accurate and complete maintenance records per quality system requirements.
Develops and administers preventive maintenance plans to ensure longevity and an economical lifespan for equipment and facilities.
Enhances the functioning and reliability of equipment and facilities by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing improvements.
Oversees the troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment problems, determines root cause, and implements corrective action.
Assists with the ordering of parts and inventory by placing purchase requisitions.
Monitors and controls maintenance inventory levels.
Balances the interests of limiting machine down-time with the cost of holding spare parts inventory.
Monitors monthly expenses to ensure compliance to budget.
Escalates unplanned maintenance expenses that may negatively impact the budget to Maintenance Manager.
Schedules services required from outside sources involving maintenance.
Oversees the performance of outside vendors and escalates concerns as appropriate.
Supports Company efforts in continuous improvement.
Serves as a resource to the Engineering Department and Operations in the specification and procurement of new equipment.
Promotes safety and energy efficiency initiatives.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, benchmarking state-of-the art practices, and participating in professional organizations and networks.
Reports reasonable suspicion of drug or alcohol use, consistent with Ace Precision’s Drug and Alcohol Testing policy and procedures.
Proceeds with minimal supervision.
Maintains or exceeds standards through efficient organization and planning.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and conformity with Ace Precision Quality System work instruction requirements that govern maintenance operations.
Follows and complies with safety policies and procedures.
Accurately completes all required documentation.
Meets attendance policy requirements.
Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed, including occasional hands-on performance of maintenance tasks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include: training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee complaints and resolving problems with the assistance of Human Resources; maintaining positive employee-employer relations; and handling confidential employee issues with discretion.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate’s Degree with a minimum of six years of related electrical, maintenance, or mechanical trades training, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Minimum of three years of maintenance supervision experience.
Experience must include performance and personnel management, maintenance scheduling, and project management in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of related machines, mechanical and safety requirements.
Understands the use of sophisticated electrical and electronic testing devices.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is essential.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read English and understand operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other Company stakeholders.
Must possess excellent writing skills.
All communications must be thorough and handled with professional expertise.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Proficient in investigating and solving problems.
Requires considerable initiative and decision-making judgment.
Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, assess priorities to meet deadlines, recognize workflow, and carefully plan short and long-term projects.
Results-oriented, self-starter with the ability to think strategically, and effectively work as part of a team.
