Safety Coordinator

*Position Summary * Under the direction of the Director of Risk Management, the Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the company safety program and safety initiatives.
*Qualifications * * *Education: *The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma/GED and/or a degree in Occupational Safety and Health.
* *Years of Relevant Work Experience:* 0 to 3 years experience in a construction environment.
* *Certificates/Licenses:* OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
Satisfactory driving record.
* *Physical Job Requirements: *Required to sit, stand and move throughout Company facilities.
Must be able to climb ladders.
Must be able to perform job responsibilities in an industrial, construction site and general outdoor environment around heavy machinery and equipment.

*Key Activities* * *Safety Procedures.
* Administer the safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
Plan and implement programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices.
* *Training.
*Keep current with new equipment and safety regulations.
Adapt policies or incorporate new policies to keep Company compliant with best safety practices.
Participate in peer level reviews, local safety boards and safety committees to garner new ideas and methods for safety improvements.
* *Safety Reviews.
* Inspect facilities and job sites to detect existing or potential safety and health hazards.
Determine corrective or preventative measures and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
* *Safety Investigations.
* Lead the investigation of accidents and injuries.
Determine root causes for accidents and injuries.
Continuously adapt policies to reduce accidents and injuries.
* *Safety Record Keeping.
* Maintains safety records and files.
* Participates in the development and implementation of Company *best practices*.
*Key Performance Factors* A successful Safety Coordinator maintains safety records, ensures all job site audits are completed in a timely manner, and thoroughly investigates all accidents.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $60,000.
