*OVERVIEW:*
The Associate Attorney is the firm’s primary point of contact for the IRS, state department of revenue, or other taxing authority in the representation of a client case.
They are responsible for the day-to-day case management of their inventoried accounts, movement of cases to final resolution, coordination with a Legal Assistant who will primarily handle periodic client contact, and the drafting and submission of items to the proper taxing authorities including, but not limited to audit packets and financial/resolution packets.
The Associate Attorney must provide guidance as it pertains to case progress as well as any documentation or information required from the client so that the Legal Assistant can communicate effectively with the client in a timely manner.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Effectively communicate with various departmental personnel at the Internal Revenue Service, state departments of revenue, and other taxing authorities.
* Review and notate/update case information and billable time spent through HubSpot on all inventoried accounts (80-150 cases) in collaboration with Legal Assistant(s) in a timely and client-centric manner.
* Prioritize daily tasks and responsibilities to increase work efficiency, while still responding to clients.
* Collect, examine and organize documentation and information for attorney review to further case progression.
* Effectively communicate and collaborate with the assigned Legal Assistant(s) to ensure clients receive proper and timely updates.
* Ensure that proper and accurate client documentation is requested for efficient case management and resolution.
* Be attentive and adhere to deadlines imposed by federal and state entities and agents.
* Educate on subject tax law and provide clients with resolution options through detailed financial analysis.
* Draft and submit necessary filings and submissions to the IRS, state departments of revenue and other taxing authorities as needed.
* Adapt to changing work structure and environment.
* Efficiently maintain, monitor and respond to all incoming emails, voicemails and phone calls.

*QUALIFICATIONS:*
* High level of financial literacy
* Persistence, the ability to work through problems and come up with solutions
* Self-motivated and self-directed in job-related tasks and performance.
* Must be client and customer service focused.
* Ability to work both independently and cohesively alongside other Legal Assistants and departments within the company.
* Must be organized, with the innate ability to prioritize and multitask.
* Basic computer literacy and navigational ability (HubSpot, Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat).
* Ability to perform efficiently under periods of stress and pressure while retaining composure.
* Juris Doctorate and admission to any state bar required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.
00 - $80,000.
